Abstract:

The Salafi movement is one of the essential internal threats in the Islamic world, especially its Takfiri type, which has caused many damages and unfortunate consequences for the Islamic world.

On the other hand, in recent years, when the Islamic world is experiencing the growth stages of Islamism and the Islamic awakening, the Salafis movement has also increased its activities and is trying to take advantage of the existing space and capture the Islamic awakening movement in its favour. Which, unfortunately, has created challenges for the Islamic world.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic of Iran, due to its key role and guidance in the Islamic awakening on the one hand and the existence of Shiite thought, on the other hand, has been the main focus of Salafi’s ideological and political attacks.

What makes this situation more difficult is the Salafis’ attempt to converge with the Sunnis to counter the influence and deepened strategy of the Shiite and direct the Islamic awakening at last.

The present study is organized to answer the central question: to what extent does the Takfiri Salafi affect the Islamic awakening and the strategies of the Islamic Republic of Iran to prevent and manage it?

Applying the Cube Crisis and Diffusion theory method, it has been proved that Takfiri Salafism has created a crisis in the Islamic world. But, on the other hand, according to the atmosphere of Islamic awakening and its requirements, it has been able to influence the trend and direction of Islamic awakening.

However, the Islamic Republic of Iran can resist and counter the current if it uses its capacities in a targeted and directed manner.

Six significant strategies can be proposed to counter the Takfiri Salafist current: “Coordination and alignment of all activities related to Salafi movement,” “Identification of Salafist capacities and activities in the Islamic world,” “Explaining the borders of Takfiri Salafis and Sunnis,” “Explaining the nature of Salafi currents and their dangers are divided into “confronting the extremist currents of the anti-Sunni Shiites” and “rapprochement between the Islamic denominations”.

Below each of the guidelines, there are strategies to achieve, which in general include: “the establishment of the Salafi headquarters”, “the establishment of the Salafi Office of Strategic Studies”, “Preparation of the Charter of the borders between Salafis and Sunnis”, explanation of history and genealogy, and Salafi record “,” Wise critique of Salafi principles and beliefs and answering doubts “,” Management of information and news “,” Formation of the Supreme Council for the promotion of Shiite education “,” the establishment of the world network of Ahl al-Bayt (AS)”, formation of joint activities with Sufis and Brillouis”, “the establishment of Shiite chairs in important scientific centers”, “Positive introduction of Shiite teachings”, “Use of non-Shiites to defend Shiites”, “Formulation of laws and explanation of borders Between Moderate and Extremist Shiites, “Emphasis on Consciousness rather than Passion in Shiite promotion,” “Defining Pathological Rapprochement Research Projects,” “Organized Communication with Islamic Scholars,” and Holding Purposeful Meetings.
