Invisible Struggles:
Human Rights of Muslim Women in Korea

Despite a growing Muslim population in Korea, the human rights issues faced by Muslim women remain largely invisible, both socially and academically. According to a 2022 survey by the National Human Rights Commission, %67 of Muslim women reported experiencing discrimination. Examples include being denied job interviews for wearing a hijab, receiving derogatory remarks on public transport, and being refused entry to fitness centers with religious attire.
