The value of Islam lies in its acknowledgment of reality’s truths. How jurists or theologians later interpret these truths is a secondary epistemological matter. Before discussing methodology, we must emphasize the necessity of “encountering” the world—a genuine, existential, and factual encounter. This ontological approach precedes any other analysis and may solve some fundamental problems.
