Academics often focus on presenting an Islamic alternative to the Universal Declaration. However, the primary issue is not the text itself. Articles like “all human beings are born free” or “everyone has the right to life” are compatible with Islamic and human values. The real problem lies in its implementation and the double standards applied. It is the political and ideological element behind these articles that is the obstacle, not the principles themselves.
