Our critique of human rights does not target its content, but rather its flawed “performance” and subsequent “instrumentalization.” This is where the political and ideological factor emerges, placing rights under indictment. This indictment expands to include the “Global South,” a concept more comprehensive than “the East” in terms of performance and epistemological context.
